Link to the comic

Well, it's Cookie. Looking rather proper.

Wonder if that 'stuff' involves poking her nose into the trouble in some way?

What do we know of Cookie's personality? Not a darn thing, that's what. She could be up to ANYTHING.

Nevertheless, she could have outright told Roger what she was going to do, and whenever a Where-coyote is purposefully ambiguous, I get the impulse to dive for cover...

Confused Something about her expression is... off-putting. I just get the feeling that... well, whatever she's planning, we're going to like her less for it.

There's something odd about her posture there . . . in both panels.

I wonder . . . maybe she's partly shifted, or there's something else odd about her.

In one of my worldlines, I'd guess she has too much fur time.

Or . . . is she preparing to shift?

If (unlike Roger) Cookie can/will go all the way down to the pure animal form, then she could be planning to literally go sniffing down Roger's back trail to see what really happened . . . and she can probably do it inconspicuously, because who pays much attention to a dog sniffing around?

(And everybody knows that coyotes are wild animals, so you don't find them around cities . . . Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes )

Coyotes have been known to come within city limits on occasion here.

I agree with those who think Cookie's up to no good. Either spying on Roger, or on the other roomies, or both. She could even be doing it for Joe.

Roger has a new change of clothes now; any bets that he'll find himself in a situation where he ends up disintegrating them yet again? Of course, both Cookie and Diana would say to go natural... albeit for different forms of Roger, and for different reasons.

Actually, I wonder what Roger does with his glasses when he goes werecoyote? He could be partially transformed here though, so he can see as well as hear better.

That was actually half of my point, the other half being that most people don't believe it, despite having had a family of coyotes living in NYC's Central Park . . . or a family of cougar living in Seattle's Discovery Park . . .

Foxes and coyotes adapt quite well to the urban environment, but people think "gee, that dog looks like a fox/coyote . . ." and never question the basic identification.

Raccoons and opossums adapt very well too . . . I've actually seen a family of raccoons sitting at a streetcorner waiting for the light to change! Rolling Eyes

Raccoons, coyotes, pfft. Around here in southern Idaho, we have our occasional cougar show up. (And not just the two-legged variety.)

Interesting to see Cookie wearing her everyday outfit...or was that specially worn for Roger? It does seem pretty schoolgirl-y...

My guess is that, after hearing about Diana from Dave, she's going to go and sniff out the competition. Likely literally.

I think it's just her skirt that's giving her the impression of one side of her a**e being out of line with the other. Or maybe that's just how she is...We don't like this person, remember? Wink

As I said, a family of cougars (Felis Concolor) living in Discovery Park, only a couple of miles from downtown Seattle, with miles of city between there and the "woods" . . . and nobody know how long they were there.

Do you think Cookie is likely to stop at sniffing out the competition? Perhaps she will, hmm, impress on Diana that she shouldn't be chasing after lost loves.

Huh, I had actually forgotten that we had seen Cookie before.

We know Joe's pack think in terms of "us and them" when it comes to deal with humans. I mean, Cookie could have her own mind on the subject, but somehow I don't think so. And besides, Roger is not only Cookie's packmate, he's her mate in a totally non british way. If human women are known to be territorial creatures , then I could only imagine how protective she-coyotes could get.

One interesting thing to ponder about is what's more valuable for Cookie: Roger the packmate, or Roger, the father of her future pups? Roger the packmate will have Cookie protecting him from all human attachments; Roger the male of the species will have Cookie driving away (eating?) all female suitors.

Does anyone else hear Cookie's lines being spoken in a Texan accent or is it just me?

I like Roger as drawn here. He looks buff. Cool

I agree with Stardrake. Cookie looks rather like a schoolgirl, or maybe a naughty schoolmarm.

Those are found in downtown.

Along with less desirable species . . . Rolling Eyes

Hey, they *all* can't be Raquel Welch. (BTW, she looks great for a sixty-nine year old. Seriously.) Confused

I don't think she will and I don't think she won't. I'm not sure we really know enough about her to predict exactly how she's going to react - she may take direct action now, or she may simply want to see what's what to decide what to do later.

She might simply be checking to see what Roger was running from . . . and why he was naked.

Given that he ran away from Diana, Roger's probably okay . . .
